Elements of the School Dance: The Committee

“Representing everyone can be difficult if you only plan for a clique or two.”

The committee has to represent all the students that may attend the event and get them excited about coming to the latest planned dance. A good committee leaves their bias at the door and allows for the group to take into account every student. The goal should be to serve every student not please every student. Serving every student includes making sure that the event has plenty of elements that a high percentage of ticket buyers will enjoy. The big job of the committee is to help students feel connected to the school. Get out there and connect to your student body. Find volunteers that can bring a fresh perspective to the event. Enjoy creating a wonderful event for your fellow students.

Q. How can your committee plan an event that will connect to a majority of your student body?

Q. Who are the different groups you have to consider serving. Do you know what they like or are you guessing?

Q: Is the committee a collective group of people that want the best for the students or themselves?
