Planning the School Dance

Every high school dance comes down to some simple basics. Though there are many variables of fanciness, everyone still has some basic elements to their dance. Our following list contains the main aspects we share with our clients. Results are different but when we work with school sponsors we always discuss the following.
1.Results Desired: This area is rarely addressed. Simply put, if you spend the time to plan and execute this event what do you want for your efforts?
2.Budget: Are you breaking even or trying to raise funds? Your ticket price should reflect your goals.
3.Location: From the gym to the fancy resort there are many places that can host your event. What is your choice and what can your budget purchase?
4.Theme: At the end of the event decorations end up in the trash. So try to recycle and save money on some of the bells and whistles.
5.Music: Find a DJ that can relate to your students musical tastes, not yours.
6.Photographs: Once the event is over this is all that is left. Don’t go cheap in this area. http://www.fireflyepe.com for more info.
7.Refreshments: In other words, food. These are high school kids so you better have plenty. Also have plenty of water available for when they are finished dancing.

Elements of the High School Dance: The School

“School should be fun and memorable and that starts at the top and trickles down and out into the community”

The place where you teach is more than just a building with walls and halls. It is a place of learning with so much history. It is a place where the young start to become somebody. Schools are the cornerstone of communities. Their mascot represents a brand that everyone in the community can recognize. The school is the students, the staff, the volunteers, the alumni and the future students so events trickle out into the community for everyone to enjoy. High school days are important. It is where the youth solidify their opinions of the world and how they are going to relate in it. The school is a vital part of what every person does in their life. For so many the high school years are a great time to look back upon to see how far you have come since. Take every opportunity to remember that you are a part of something special. The legacy of your high school is strengthened every year by new students and graduates. The school should remember its past, support its present and dive into its future.

Q: What about your school’s culture helps you know that you will have a successful high school dance?

Q: What negatives will you have to redirect in order to help everyone feel connected?

Q: What are two positive thoughts, that you can share with others, best describe your school?

Firefly Event Photography & Entertainment, LLC believes that high school event photography should be creative, cost effective for all students and accessible for years. Our system helps every student feel like the homecoming king, prom queen and valedictorian.

Firefly Event Photography is high volume photography company that helps high school event sponsors add long term value to yearly dances, special events, and graduations.

Currently, professional photography for high schools lacks creativity, is costly, and includes a lengthy turnaround time. These issues have created a frustration from students, parents and sponsors that live in a world where photos are abundant and they don’t have to wait weeks to view and enjoy.

Our unique system and team of photographers provide multiple opportunities for every student to enjoy professional photography without excessive costs. By working with Firefly, our sponsors enjoy a worry free service knowing that the morning after the event their pictures will be ready to view, share and download for free, for life.

The reason I’m so committed to helping high schools is because I’m a former teacher, and I have witnessed the neglect by other photo companies toward schools that didn’t seem lucrative enough for them to show up to their events. I have also witnessed an almost hijacking of images unless the family was willing to pay a large sum of money for a product that didn’t improve even as the technology did.

But when schools bring in firefly, every student feels like the homecoming king, prom queen or the valedictorian.

Feedback Needed: Animation Script For Our Prom Photography

We are looking to do an animation script for our prom photography and would like your feedback on if the following words deliver a visual as you read the information.

Feel free to share constructive advice so we can deliver the best animation to our potential clients in the near future.

1. It’s prom planning time and if you are like other sponsors you have a budget based on the number of tickets you will sell at a certain price.

2. This budget includes things like the venue, decorations, DJ, and food.

3. If there is any leftover then you may look at a gift for the students that attend in the form of something labeled, or something you can put in their hand.

4. Most schools take the little excess and add a trinket that has impact but no lasting value.

5. At the end of the night when you have spent your entire budget, what do your students have left over?

6. The DJ has pulled the plug, the venue has locked the doors, the photo booth is packed away and you may be stuck with boxes of leftover trinkets that kids don’t want.

7. At Firefly we deliver years of lasting value with our photography system that is accessible to all students at your event.

8. At Prom our photographers capture as many images as your students desire and provide an online gallery to view, share and download the picture.

9. Your students get to create the memories they want with the people they enjoy the most without worrying if they are going to wait two weeks to get images, loose the paper strip from the photo booth machine, or pay extra sums of money per image.

10. It’s time your students had a one-time pay service that lasted longer than a few weeks.

11. Firefly delivers hundreds of images for one payment within 24 hours. Your students never have to worry about losing images or paying extra fees down the road. Access and unlimited downloading never expire.

12. Firefly Event Photography: Helping every student feel like the homecoming king, prom queen or valedictorian.
